Ten-year-old girl was stabbed and died at the scene on Monday at Boolaroo, west of Newcastle.
Paramedics were called before 4pm but didn’t make it saving the life of a girl who had suffered multiple stab wounds.
A 17-year-old girl who was at the scene (at home) has been arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.
Police believe the girls are known to each other.
The girls were sisters, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The investigation is underway for the cause of incident.
